WestJet is hiring a Loyalty Accountant who will be responsible for the accounting and reporting for the WestJet Rewards program. This individual will be a key partner to the WestJet Loyalty team in supporting new initiatives and partnerships while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal processes. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting, this individual must be highly motivated, flexible, capable of solving complex problems and possess a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

· Complete month end processes including journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation preparation

· Apply key assumptions related to WestJet Rewards with particular emphasis on IFRS 15

· Finance partner to the Loyalty team. Assists with the evaluation of program changes for accounting impacts

· Build and maintain key relationships with internal departments as well as external financial, airline and other partners

· Support development of reporting and processes required with new WestJet Rewards initiatives, partners, and changes to technology

· Assist with forecasting and annual budget

· Maintain effective and meaningful program reporting, analysis, and controls while proactively identifying and remediating issues

· Develop, maintain, and evaluate accounting estimates based on a variety of data sources

· Develop and maintain C-SOX and accounting research documents

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience

· Accounting designation or equivalent

· Loyalty program, airline industry or financial/credit card accounting experience is an asset

· Superior communication, relationship management and teamwork skills

· Experience working with multiple systems, data flow and analyzing large volumes of data

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight timelines in a fast paced and evolving environment

· Highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail

· Positive, can-do attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
