Accounting Generalist
POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Accounting Generalist is to support the accounting staff in processing invoices, expense reports, corporate credit cards, fuel tickets, work order billing, and other Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable duties. This position will report directly to the Controller.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Process all accounts payable invoices, including proper coding & approvals.
- Process expense reports for corporate travelers & cardholders.
- Review and verify all corporate travel credit card statements.
- Process retail fuel tickets & process related accounts payable invoices.
- Review FedEx coding for all billable accounts payable transactions.
- Coordinate with other departments to research and resolve any errors or missing documentation.
- Reconcile various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
- Prepare work order & special billings for customer account(s).
- Record & reconcile banking transactions.
- File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices.
- Ensure to provide excellent customer service through phone, e-mail, chat, etc. in timely and accurate manner.
- Performs duties as required to support Accounting Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10 years General Accounting experience
- Associates degree in Accounting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Possesses strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented.
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills. Positive attitude.
- Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management within the company and with vendors and customers.
