Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare variance analyses and explanations for management review.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.
- General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure proper coding of transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Internal Controls:
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies.
- Assist in internal and external audits.
- Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to gather financial data and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Train and supervise accounting staff.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial and accounting procedures.
- Implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects, such as system implementations, mergers, or acquisitions.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is often preferred.
- Several years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Communication Skills:
- Communicate financial information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for executive management.
Computer Skills:
- Fluent in MS office applications including word, excel, access, and Microsoft outlook.
