It was founded in 2014 to support front-line firefighters with world-leading technology and aerial fire suppression systems. We have grown from operating a single plane to commanding a significant Air Attack and the largest Super Scooper fleet in the U.S. in less than eight years.

About the Role
Bridger Aerospace is looking for a Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting responsible for managing the execution of the Company’s corporate accounting functions, public company financial compliance, and oversight of significant transactions. The Director of Technical Accounting is a key member of the management team and has significant interaction with the CFO and other executive management.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
What You’ll Do:
- Drives a strong controllership mindset throughout the Company by providing appropriate financial support in the attainment of operating goals and objectives.
- Direct financing strategies, analysis, forecasting, and budget management.
- Establish, or recommend to management major economic objectives and policies for the organization.
- Create and monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC regulations.
- Oversee financial reporting including forecasting, income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Administer the capital budget program and monitor expenditures against the Board approved capital budget.
- Oversee the completion of external financial statement audits and other regulatory audits and reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of materials shared with the Board of Directors.
- Assists with investor relations including the preparation of conference and other investor materials.
- Direct determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
- Perform equity plan research and accounting.
- Assist with design and implementation of financial information systems.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university
- One or more professional certifications – Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Minimum of 10 years experience in corporate finance, accounting, and/or FP&A at a publicly traded company
- Exceptional people, project, and client management skills
- Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication and responses as needed based upon various situations
- Ability to translate complex issues into simple and easy to understand terms
- Experience with internal controls and compliance consulting a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines; the ability to work well with all levels of management.
