Located in Columbus, Georgia, P&W’s Columbus Engine Center (CEC) is one of the premier aircraft engine overhaul operations in the world, serving both large commercial and military customers, and specializing in service of the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine family, which incorporates the latest technology and engine performance.
We have a rare hybrid work opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Specialist, Accounting professional to join our team at CEC in Georgia, with opportunity to grow into a long and diverse career in P&W’s finance and accounting functions.
What You Will Do:
We are searching for an energetic self-starter with the ability to function at a high level in a dynamic and challenging environment. Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills are critical to performing well in this role, and prior working knowledge of SAP is a strong plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to lead and drive performance in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Month-end closing activities, including reporting, analysis and journal entries
- Managing vendor payable accounts, including reconciliations and resolution of issues in collaboration with vendors and internal operations
- Internal Controls evaluation and testing
- Business process improvement
- Support for balance sheet reviews and internal audits
- Represent the finance team in cross-functional collaboration with other departments
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with finance focus) and 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance; OR Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (with finance focus) and 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen - this position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
- Experience with enterprise management systems (especially SAP or similar)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration with other departments
- Experience with HFM or OneStream financial reporting software
- Experience with data management apps such as Business Warehouse, Power BI
- Strong aptitude for identifying inefficiencies and opportunities to drive operational improvements

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
