We are currently seeking a full-time Aircraft Reliability Specialist to join our team at our Calgary, AB base. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the Aircraft Reliability Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of aircraft operations by analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending maintenance actions. This position is key in the aviation industry, helping to improve aircraft performance and reduce downtime.
Job Description 1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and analyze aircraft performance data, maintenance logs, and operational metrics.
Generate reports and dashboards to monitor reliability trends and fleet performance.
Provide detailed analysis of unscheduled maintenance events, delays, and cancellations.
2. Reliability Program Management:
Develop, implement, and maintain the aircraft reliability program in line with industry standards (e.g., ATA, FAA, or EASA requirements).
Identify potential reliability issues and propose preventive actions or design improvements.
Coordinate with various departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and flight operations, to improve aircraft reliability.
3. Failure Trend Analysis:
Monitor and evaluate component and system failures to identify patterns or recurring issues.
Conduct root cause analysis on significant reliability issues and work with engineering and vendors to find solutions.
Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to aircraft and component reliability.
4. Corrective Action Recommendations:
Work with the maintenance team to recommend corrective actions, including maintenance procedure updates, component redesign, or operational changes.
Ensure that proposed solutions are cost-effective and do not negatively impact flight safety.
5. Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that reliability data and analysis meet regulatory requirements set by aviation authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA, Transport Canada).
Maintain accurate records and documentation of reliability metrics, analysis, and corrective actions.
Support audits and inspections related to the reliability program.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance planning, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure reliability initiatives align with the overall maintenance strategy.
Liaise with aircraft manufacturers and suppliers to discuss reliability issues and seek technical support for improvements.
7. Continuous Improvement:
Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance aircraft performance and reliability.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to aircraft reliability.
8. Training and Development:
Provide training or guidance to maintenance staff on reliability best practices.
Develop internal tools, processes, or programs that help in improving the fleet’s overall reliability.
Required Skills & KnowledgeStrong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation.
In-depth understanding of aviation regulations and maintenance programs.
Proficiency with reliability analysis tools and software (e.g., TRAX, AMOS, or equivalent maintenance management systems).
Knowledge of aircraft systems and components.
Excellent communication skills for report writing and coordination across departments.
