Loads and Dynamics Engineer

Various Locations

Contract Position

$79.53 - $96.23/Hour

Join a team dedicated to advancing spacecraft technology as a Loads and Dynamics Engineer, where you will perform critical modeling, simulation, and validation to support spacecraft and ground system development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine, and validate Finite Element Models (FEM) and correlate results to test data.
  • Perform rigid and flexible body dynamics analysis for spacecraft systems.
  • Model, simulate, and verify spacecraft launch, docking, and landing events.
  • Measure, interpret, and analyze acceleration, shock, and vibration data from ground and flight tests.
  • Contribute to general loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems.
  • Support configuration development and perform trade studies to evaluate design options.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in predicting and validating structural dynamics and loads, with expertise in finite element modeling.
  • Strong foundation in structural static and dynamic analysis fundamentals.
  • Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods, including hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial analytical software.
  • U.S. Citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent residency (Green Card), or lawful admission as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in spacecraft and launch vehicle loads development and validation.
  • Proficiency with Hyperworks, NASTRAN, Matlab, and other analysis tools such as LS-Dyna, Adams, Wave6, and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).
  • High-frequency environment prediction skills for spacecraft and launch vehicles.
