We have an immediate opening for a Metallurgical Quality Systems (MQS) Specialist. The MQS Specialist will provide quality systems support, review and approve testing results, and serve as a technical resource for the Laboratory Department at Davenport Works.
The Metallurgical Quality Systems Specialist will be responsible (but not limited to) the following job duties:
- Support quality systems
- Technical resource for connecting Customer requirements to Quality Systems and Laboratory processes and systems.
- Quality Data management (running and compiling reports from multiple data sources, drive automation of reporting, analyzing test results, statistical analysis of process information, certification, etc)
- Quality Assurance SPA for system improvement activities and deployment
- Interpretation of multiple Customer Quality requirements across all product categories
- Linking data systems (Oracle, Unisys, LIMS, eSpec, Shop Floor, etc) to ensure customer quality requirements are understood, met, and data properly saved/archived
- Perform testing lot release review, create material certifications, oversee technical areas such as the Analytical Chem Lab, Metallurgical Lab, or Quantometer Lab
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of Information Technology or Quality Assurance experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution.
- Experience working with data management.
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle preferred, but not required.
- Ability to interpret customer quality requirements (i.e. test types, limits, specifications, etc.)
