Job Description SummaryThe Communications Specialist, China will support the creation of a communications vision and roadmap as well as help implement a strategic external and internal communications plan to support GE Aerospace’s work as well as enhance the company’s reputation in China. This position will support the following areas: Reputation & Thought Leadership, Media Relations, Public Affairs, and Employee/Culture Communications and work closely with the Brand team on regional brand marketing campaigns. Executive Communications: Provide communications support to regional leadership on complex, sensitive and business critical priorities, support a thought leadership strategy and manage speaker and conference participation for regional senior leaders.
Public Affairs: Partner with government affairs commercial teams in region to help develop a GE Aerospace public affairs strategy for the market, including creating the local GE Aerospace narrative to help advance business priorities, managing reputation risk issues in region, and operating with a campaign mindset to support policies with government stakeholders.
Media Relations: Build relationships with major regional business media and national media to drive proactive storytelling. Responsible for written communications, including press releases, holding statements, Q&As, position papers and media pitches. Manage regional PR agencies, including monitoring and measurement of regional communications, securing a favorable share-of-voice relative to competitors.
Employee engagement / Culture communications: Deliver an employee engagement program to create awareness, celebrate wins, and drive GE Aerospace’s culture. Develop messaging, writing, directing webcasts/webchats, video production, planning, and executing all-employee and function meetings, etc.
Degree in Communications, Media/PR, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum 8 years of communications experience in media relations, public relations or public affairs; strong preference for candidates with a Corporate multinational and/or PR agency with major blue-chip clients
Fluent and/or excellent verbal/written skills in English, and local/regional language.
