Responsibilities
Position Summary
Crew Schedulers are an integral part of the Operation Control Center (OCC) and serve as a critical component to the airline’s operation. The Crew Scheduler is responsible for ensuring each scheduled flight is legally covered with the appropriate crew compliment. A Crew Scheduler monitors and aptly amends crew schedules by adhering to FARs, policies and procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and modify crew schedules to resolve all conflicts created by weather, maintenance, and crew issues by exercising decision-making skills that comply with all applicable FAA regulations, CBA, and company policies while using resources efficiently.
- Interact with crew members and process daily absences, operation reassignments, crew swaps, and crew movement
- Resolve flight crew legality problems and rest requirements based on appropriate regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of the flight schedule by ensuring all segments have been assigned to a legal crew.
- Provide a high level of attention to detail and precise communication to crew members about schedule changes.
- Build all open crew member segments into trips and cover for current day.
- Make last-minute changes to crew hotel reservations/cancellations and transportation arrangements, as necessary, during daily operations.
- Book crew members on deadhead flights when needed
- Monitor crew members check-in status to assure coverage
- Communicate with Crew Scheduling Coordinators, Dispatch Coordinators and Maintenance Supervisors regarding daily operational concerns to resolve any operational issues.
- Utilize multiple software systems to track and solve complex scheduling problems and complete required checklists.
- Monitor and maintain FAR legality and contractual compliance of crew member schedules for a 24 hour/ 7-day operation and make appropriate modifications to meet such regulations.
- Assist with irregular operations by processing Crew Recovery Reports
- Assist with on-the-job training for New Hire Schedulers
- Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to proactively identify and prevent potential operational disruptions
- Must be able to adapt to changes under pressure situations and maintain composure in high volume stress situations
- Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing environments/priorities
- Ability to speak, read, write in English
- Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Crew scheduling experience
- Knowledge of airline and aviation terminology
- Aviation operations experience

Supervisory Responsibility: This is not a supervisory position
Delegation: In Absence, Manager of Crew Scheduling will handle and assign tasks
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment.
