Job Title: Customer Service Agent
Reports to: Customer Service Supervisor/Manager
Core Functions: Greets passengers traveling on airlines handled by the company and facilitates the check in process, baggage handling and boarding of aircraft.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED TO START:
Working knowledge of computers and computer applications.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Four CXC subjects with minimum Grade 3 pass or equivalent. English and Mathematics or accounts are required subjects.
- One-year working experience in an airline customer service or transportation Industry.
WORKING HOURS:
Ability to work a full-time schedule including weekends and holidays. As with all posts at this level, there can be some regular travel and some, work undertaken outside contracted hours.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
- Excellent customer service skills and a well-developed interpersonal skill.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB:
- Required to stand for long periods while carrying out duties
- Availability to work Overtime as required.
- Willingness to attend and participate in local and overseas training.
- Ability to lift 50lbs weight.
- Exposure to heat, noise dust and dirt.
- Required to work on shift of eight hours or more on any day of the week

Exercises Functional Authority: Ramp attendants
LIAISES WITH:
Internally: Ramp/Operations Personnel, accounting Personnel
Externally: Airline Representatives, Customs & Immigrations Authorities-
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Attends Flight and Staff Briefing as required.
- Greets customers during check-in process, checks travel documents, issues boarding passes generates and issues passenger bag tags.
- Ensure accurate and complete processing of unaccompanied minors (UM).
- Performs ticketing and PNR changes assigns seats makes public announcement match name tags on bags with computer generated tags.
- Summarizes with passengers at the end of the check in process, their boarding time and gate number and identify baggage receipts.
- Moves checked bags from scale to conveyor belt.
- Meets, boards and closes flight.
- Maintain and control luggage tags.
- You must duly and promptly account for all moneys received by you in the course of your employment and pay over the same to the Company or as the Company directs.
- Adheres to all safety and security procedures of the Company, Airlines Civil authorities, IATA and ICAO standards.
- Accounts for and reports daily sales inclusive of government revenue to supervisor/senior agent.
- Answers the telephone and makes calls of customers as required.
- Records and secures mishandled baggage for delivery to passenger or forwarding out of the country with authorization of customs.
- Undertakes filing duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties specifically related to the job.
