Are you passionate about quality assurance, and have you worked on various projects where you’ve played an integral role in QA? In this position at Avelo, you will support the Commercial and Operations teams by QA’ing all the Customer and Crewmember touchpoint products and more. You will be tasked with maintaining high software quality and user experience of commercial / operation products and being the last line of defense for anything these teams produce.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, usability, and compatibility testing.
  • Perform manual testing of mobile apps to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in functionality.
  • Identify, document, and report defects using appropriate bug-tracking tools and work with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, program/product managers, designers, and different business groups, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and quality expectations.
  • Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback to ensure clarity and testability of requirements.
  • Perform exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues and potential usability problems.
  • Create and maintain testing environments and test data to simulate real-world scenarios.
  • Assist in designing and improving QA and UAT standards, methodologies, and documentation.
  • Monitor and track testing progress, providing regular status updates and reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to software quality assurance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance software development and testing.
  • Communicate issues with urgency based on priority and impact.
  • Provide product support for post-production support and newly launched products.
  • Lead the user acceptance testing as a subject matter expert and collaborate with business groups to review test cases and results and receive sign-off.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar collaboration tools.
  • Experience with the software testing cycle is required.
  • Experience testing and validating frequent releases and mid to large product releases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, testing, and validation.
  • Knowledge of airline operation systems to support operations product testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/assignments at one time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively present findings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and deliver findings quickly.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment with Business and Technology team members.
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • May require travel to various locations as needed

X-FACTORS:

  • Prior airline industry experience is preferred.
  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications (optional but beneficial).
  • Experience with automated testing and scripting language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, database systems, and API testing is a plus.
