Overview of role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join our IT Airline Operations team. As an Intermediate QA Analyst on this team, you will be finding effective and efficient ways to validate various business rules as they apply to the applications under test.
The Intermediate QA Analyst is responsible for verifying and participating in test case development, execution of tests, defect management, coordination of test activities on projects and development of automation strategies. This role will collaborate closely with the test team and with stakeholders including product managers, business analysts and developers to understand requirements and define test objectives and strategies.
Key deliverables include:
- Perform end-to-end API testing of the airport application platform, covering various functional areas and business scenarios
- Collaborate with stakeholders including
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate platform functionality and ensure adherence to business and technical requirements
- Utilize various interfaces such as Sabre UI tools, APIs, and databases for test execution
- Collaborate with other teams utilizing the same platform and share in reviewing respective testing approaches
- Identify, log, and track defects and issues, and work closely with the product and development teams to investigate and resolve them in a timely manner
- Continuously assess and improve the testing process, methodologies, and techniques to optimize test coverage and effectiveness
- Collaborate with the development team to gain an in-depth understanding of the platform architecture and data flow for effective testing
- Analyze test results and provide comprehensive test reports to stakeholders, highlighting any risks, issues, or areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other team members to share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned from testing activities
- Proactively identify areas within the testing process that can be automated, including test data generation, repetitive test cases, and regression testing
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and techniques in software testing, particularly in test automation, and propose their adoption when appropriate
Experience and qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience as a QA Analyst or in a similar role testing APIs
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and working within Agile teams
- Experience working with Azure DevOps CI Pipeline tools
- Demonstrated experience using version control tools
- Proficiency in API test automation frameworks and tools, such as ReadyAPI, Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, testing principles, and agile practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
