About the team: Shared Hardware Solutions is 1 of 7 commodities teams that comprise the GE Aviation Sourcing organization. The commodity is responsible for over 25,000 part numbers and over $450MM in annual spend.
As a Lead Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for end to end Sourcing efforts and strategic execution with a dedicated portfolio of suppliers. This role has responsibilities such as: leading the RFx and supplier selection/award process, conducting negotiations, confirming terms and conditions + maintaining long term agreements, placing purchase orders within the ERP system, and collaborating with cross functional teams to foster productivity within the supply base. You will ideate on ways to drive days to pay, cash, and deflation. This is a role with autonomy that mixes both strategic and tactical buying responsibilities.
This role is based in Evendale, OH at the main Sourcing HQ. It is open to a Remote Opportunity in OH, IN, & KY. The expectation is that a candidate will be in the office some portion to collaborate with colleagues and for key meetings/events onsite. If in the immediate area working a hybrid or flexible schedule is also available.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities: Lead Sourcing Specialist
- Generate best possible commercial outcomes for GE to manage total cost of all assigned parts and suppliers ensuring best cost, quality, and delivery.
- Responsible for a portfolio of Suppliers within the Shared Hardware Solutions Commodity.
- Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
- Negotiate with dedicated suppliers to achieve strategic goals of the Sourcing organization.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
- Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
- Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Travel upwards of 10-15
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in Sourcing, Buying-Procurement, or roles relevant to Supply Chain)
- A minimum of 3 years in Sourcing, Buying-Procurement, or roles relevant to Supply Chain
