POSITION SUMMARY
Provides P3E consultation/support to the Embraer Executive Aircraft Production facility. The role serves as Lean Specialist II and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of lean processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste across the organization; being the liaison between the P3E Central Committee and the Production operation; both Phenom and Praetor assembly lines. The role requires an individual with a strong understanding of lean principles and methodologies, as well as the ability to lead and mentor others on these concepts effectively.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Lean practices, leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of lean processes and systems across the organization, providing practical solutions to analytical problems.
- Supports project planning for improvement (A3, Kaizen, Yokoten, Project Charting, projects with probabilistic data “Lean Green Belt” to more complex issues and possibilities to analyze data, DMAIC action deployment).
- Lead area’s Root Cause Analysis routines, assisting in the usage of Problem-Solving techniques (A3, Kaizen, Yokoten, Problem Solving tools: 5 why’s, fishbone diagram, etc.)
- Follows up with leaders and other participants periodically regarding projects results in order to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency
- Conduct lean assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address identified opportunities
- Obtains continuous feedback from each team under the area where it operates to identify potential roadblocks, concerns, and issues that need to be rapidly resolved
- Use data analysis tools to measure the effectiveness of lean processes and identify areas for continuous improvement
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on lean principles and tools
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency
- Pull data to build dashboards that appropriately display information.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that lean principles are being implemented effectively
- Develop and maintain lean-related documentation, such as standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Serve as a subject matter expert on lean principles and methodologies
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Green Belt Certification is preferred.
Experience:
- Prefer 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aviation sector.
- Experience applying Lean techniques in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven record of using Lean practices in a complex setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of lean principles and methodologies, such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, etc. abiding by Embraer Values.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Act as situational leader regarding Lean projects.
- Ability to propose solutions that increase operational efficiency, including the implementation of Lean strategies, and deliver measurable and recognized results for the business.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence and collaborate with leadership across various operational areas.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, ISO 18001, ISO 14000, ISO9001 methodologies and DMAIC philosophies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer-related skills.
