Methods Planner I
Essential Job Functions
Maintain Methods process plans and other related documents with the assistance and guidance of Methods Planners and Methods Engineers. The primary responsibility is to create and maintain the necessary documents for the production of various models and components of Piper Aircraft. The employee’s knowledge of our ERP system and processes in conjunction with their discretion and judgment are required to maintain manufacturing process planning documents. These documents are maintained by interpreting the Type Design data released from Design Engineering and converting it into the detailed process planning utilized by manufacturing for the production of fabricated parts, sub-assemblies, aircraft final assembly, and completion. These duties require the employee to exercise their judgment along with the direction of Methods Engineers when maintaining process planning to ensure the final product meets the engineering Type Design.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May lead continuous improvement projects and be required to train and assist other employees, along with providing cross functional project management support.

Maintain Methods planning for product improvements with guidance from Sr. Methods Planners and Methods Engineers
Determine when First Article Inspections are required
Provide support to Methods Engineering and Production
Input items, routings, and BOMs into LN
Provide planning for Non-Conformances (NC’s)
Create/Release TRA’s
Work with Methods Planners and Engineers to maintain generic aircraft line station structures in LN
Assist with continuous process improvements to existing aircraft and details
Attend scheduled meetings
Assist in solving methods and tooling problems
Perform other related duties as required
Education
High school diploma required Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
0-3 years of Methods experience and/or proficiently skilled. Microsoft Office experience, as well as general computer literacy, is also required to perform the duties of this position. Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Teamcenter, TC vis, and NX experience are preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
