The Operations Coordinator is a newly created role focused on administrating and managing the logistics associated with major events on our campus, such as large meetings, organizational events, and symposiums. The selected candidate will be aligned to our Operations organization and partner closely with several key stakeholders such as our Programs Office, Chiefs, and Communications teams.Job Description
The Operations Coordinator – GE Aerospace Research will:
Demonstrate strong independent decision making and autonomy when coordinating events
Embrace continuous improvement and implementation of standard work to drive efficiencies
Manage assigned aspects of site events, including such things as catering, meeting room setup, overnight accommodations, transportation, AV coordination, etc.
Interact directly with Senior Leaders and VIPs and represent GE Aerospace Research in a positive and professional manner
Support operations activities as needed for the Aerospace Research extended leadership team
Interface with resident organizations on site to coordinate space utilization and resolve conflicting organizational needs
Monitor booking of conference rooms on a regular basis to proactively address any conflicts and manage associated digital signage
Maintain positive relations with catering supplier(s) by regularly reviewing catering requests and providing any needed clarity
During events, personally seeing to the needs of event guests/participants and coordinating any additional support staff
Take on special projects, as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management
Minimum 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry
Experience interacting with high level leaders, executives, or equivalent
Excellent collaboration, influence, written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude during times of stress and uncertainty
High degree of flexibility including being open and responsive to feedback
Proficiency in digital systems, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work well in a global team environment, must be flexible and adaptable to extend work hours as needed
Must be willing to work on-site at our facility in Niskayuna, NY

Must be 18 years or older

The base pay range for this position is 1,245 - 1,850 USD weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This posting is expected to close on April 5, 2024
