We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, ATF Compliance, who will be responsible for maintaining compliance as it relates to activities and recordkeeping requirements governed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). The position will work and collaborate with other members of the ATF compliance team, internal stakeholders, and internal customers, and will require onsite collaboration primarily in Tucson, AZ but may stretch across multiple controlled locations. This role will report to the ATF Senior Manager within the Global Ethics & Compliance organization.
What you will do
Support the execution and management of authorizations related to: the permanent importation of US Munitions Import List (USMIL) defense articles & the acquisition and disposition of destructive devices and explosive material
Manage the physical validation process related to all ATF transactional records for all ATF-licensed facilities, including but not limited to: Firearms and explosives Acquisition and Dispositions (A&D) records, daily summary of Magazine Transactions (DSMT) for each explosive storage magazine
Collaboration with internal functions to ensure compliant reconciliation of ATF records and explosives inventory
Develop and manage all Explosives Employee Possessors and Responsible Persons clearances across all ATF-licensed facilitates
Review and submit all Employee Possessor Questionnaires (EPQs) and Responsible Persons (RP) questionnaires to ATF
Interface directly with ATF on all matters regarding EPQs
Manage small projects
Collaboration with applicable functions to ensure compliant construction of explosive storage magazines
Support Transactional Authorizations, Risk Analysis, and Control Embedment initiatives within the ATF compliance group
Support of audit and assessment activities, both internal and with regulators
Domestic travel up to 25 is required to maintain compliance across the US
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience in reading and / or drafting formal correspondence
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
The ability to obtain and maintain an employee possessor clearance with ATF by way of the Employee Possessor Questionnaire (EPQ) process
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with SAP-based systems or equivalent inventory management systems
Seasoned professional contributor
Self-starter who can develop effective networks and successful partnerships with internal functional organizations
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to triage multiple competing actions and to prioritize
Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with discretion when collecting sensitive information.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
