Principal System Administrators & Scrum Master, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
What You Will Do:
- Act as Scrum Master, in close partnership with the Product Owner, facilitating and ensuring the team is committed to the scrum methodology, agile principles and best practices, while delivering first class customer service.
- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Have a deep understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy and server replication methods.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced, large-scaled technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
- Partner with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures.
- Be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
- Understand and support systems that are operational 24x7x365 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
- Travel as required to other US domestic locations as business needs dictate (up to 10).
- Work full time 100 on-site, inside a closed area.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of direct experience
- Must have experience administrating both Windows and RedHat operating systems.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience supporting large enterprise multi-OS environments.
- Experience with virtualization, VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, and ESXi and/or other virtual computing methods.
- Experience with compliance, vulnerability and auditing tools (Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG, Ivanti).
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
- Experience with storage and data protection hardware, software, technologies and solutions (NetApp, Veritas).
- Experience with using Information Technology in both the project and software development lifecycle management processes.
- Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, SCCM, MDT, Skype, and/or Exchange.
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC).
- Experience with scripting (Perl, Bash, Python).
- Experience with automation tools/frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, GitLab, Gitlab Runner).
- Experience with developer tools (Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools, Jira).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Docker Desktop, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Khanban).
- Experience with Windows OS administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, LDAP).
- Experience with Linux and Windows integration tools (Centrify, Samba).

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
