Job Description:

The Production Planner, MRO plans, schedules, and coordinates the activities throughout the production process within the AMO/MRO. Planning includes creating and managing work orders, managing queues and scheduling work, tactical expediting, ensuring materials are available when required, and determining that all production activities are in place to meet the expected completion and delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve the Task Cards and Work Orders generated by Maintenance Planners to launch the execution of work and Induction of aircraft.
  • Work with Maintenance Planner/Crew Chiefs to break down pertinent elements of the Maintenance Plan into work package detailed including providing inputs for trade personnel, endorsement requirements, part availability, tooling, fixtures, equipment and hangar space.
  • Manage major milestones for the project and update milestones into ERP in consultation with Planning Manager/Project Managers/Crew Chiefs.
  • Preparation of aircraft inductions process for all De Havilland assets and ensuring its completion to final release until delivery to customer.
  • Provide experience and knowledge and work with maintenance planners to review task cards with specifics of aircraft configuration for engineering obsolescence testing/major modifications/STCs/AD/SB etc.
  • Solicit feedback from Technicians, Leads, and Crew Chiefs regarding enhancements to be made to the Maintenance Plan.  Capture and process lessons learned on task card content, clarity, sequencing, trades required, or durations.  Build improvements into the sequence for future use.
  • Manage Part ID and the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) Process within the ERP System.  Ensure timely closure of high-level Work Orders in the system.
  • Work with maintenance planners to have printed work package ready for production release.
  • Ability to understand the different assembly sequences and identify critical paths.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements

  • AME M1/M2/E license is preferred
  • Endorsed on De Havilland Aircrafts is considered an asset
  • 3+ years planning, scheduling, or otherwise administrating in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with various work groups, relaying technical information
  • Computer skills to competently interact with an ERP system, manage Microsoft Excel worksheets, draft formal emails, digitally sign-off documents, and prepare Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • ERP experience will be considered an asset
  • Experience with Visual considered an asset
  • Experience in an Aviation, Aerospace or Manufacturing environment considered an asset
