Located in Kent Washington, Protective Coatings Inc. is a leading provider of full service finishing for the aerospace, electronics and medical industries in both commercial and defense applications. Services include but are not limited to non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection and a wide variety of surface enhancement processes such as shot peening and abrasive blasting, passivation, cadmium and nickel zinc plating, chromic, sulfuric and boric sulfuric acid anodizing and the application of chromate conversion coating on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Founded in 1976, Protective Coatings Inc. was later acquired by Precision Castparts in 2012, and became part of the Aerostructures Division. Position Summary:
Candidates for a Level 1 Production Scheduler position, under direct supervision, will be responsible for the tracking and providing of status for in-process orders of production aerospace parts. Level 1 Production Schedulers will help facilitate production departments to expedite customer orders as necessary to meet shipping schedules, and provide communication and feedback to production departments on priority orders. Level 1 Production Schedulers will be expected to learn scheduled truck routes, and provide assistance for the shipping department when necessary for the organization of deliverables. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. As a condition of assignment, Level 1 Production Scheduler candidates may be expected to access information and product controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations. As such these candidates may be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, Legal Permanent Residence or protected status as a Non-Citizen National of the U.S.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Wear and maintain proper personal equipment (PPE).
- Tracking of job specific customer orders, and provide or document status.
- Create “past-due” and priority lists for production and individual department tracking.
- Assisting with processing departments to help facilitation of priority orders.
- Adjusting (e-system) of revised customer due dates or quantities, as appropriate.
- Electronic scanning of company records (i.e. customer POC’s).
- May learn additional skills in processing departments to help with priority orders (i.e. Unmasking, Packaging).
- May operate pallet jack, wheeled carts, or dollies for the transport of production orders.
- Scheduler will work in the shipping and receiving department to support when needed
- Forklift certification (training available)
Required Skills:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Must be detail oriented and quick learner.
- Organization skills.
- Basic computers skills (such as MS Word, MS Outlook, and Adobe Reader) involving scanning and documentation of customer related documents, and email communications.
