Roles and Responsibilities
1) Completion of compliant cost proposals within the agree metric:
- Respond to requests for proposal from cost estimating to support USG proposals over the TINA threshold. These activities support the roll-up of the overall product price proposal that flow to GE’s end customers. This effort includes:
- Evaluating validity of available pricing
- Assessing on-hand material
- Sending out Request for Quotes (RFQs) to the supply base to obtain updated pricing
- Compiling all cost data
- Providing compliant procurement justifications
- Provide completed cost proposal package to cost estimating
- Facilitate Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCoPD) sweeps which includes
- Responding to requests from cost estimating to complete TCoPD Sweeps
- Validating with the broader Sourcing team that the information on the previously submitted cost estimating packages is still accurate and complete
- Support proposal audits and customer fact finds
- Drive process improvements to improve proposal TAT, while remaining compliant to the FARs.
2) Complete compliant Value Engineering (VE) Estimates within the agree metric:
- Respond to requests for VE’s to support the Sourcing team with their procurement justifications. This effort includes:
- Reviewing the drawing and parts list for the applicable part number
- Using market data to provide material cost
- Assembling labor and material costs into one should-cost package
- Drive process improvements to improve proposal TAT, while remaining compliant to the FARs.
3) Stay abreast of laws and regulations that might affect the organizations policies and procedures related to government procurements.
4) Assist with Lean Sourcing projects and initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sourcing or Sourcing Initiatives)
