Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Analyst Charter Catering Operations, the selected candidate will provide oversight and direction to assigned hubs, external customers, and Inflight Charter Coordinators (ICCs) to ensure a safe, reliable operation. In addition, the Senior Analyst leads budget and pricing management, cost savings initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. Through direct leadership and teamwork, the Senior Analyst will ensure achievement of all relevant operating performance targets, compliance to regulatory and requirements, and drive improvements to internal and external customer metrics. This is a Chicago-based role, with 10 – 20 travel to ensure adequate oversight. The successful candidate will cultivate positive relationships with internal stakeholders including Network Planning, Inflight, Flight Ops, and Food Safety, and external stakeholders including catering vendors, technology partners and third-party vendors. This role will also support responsible use of United’s equipment and materials, effective warehouse management practices, inventory ordering and stock management, and waste reduction efforts.

  • Manage planning, execution, and communication of all aspects of catering for assigned portfolio of charter clients, including menu planning, galley design, equipment and logistics, catering vendor engagement and execution; ensure that all regulatory (FAA, FDA, etc.), food safety, and business requirements are met.
  • Lead budget and pricing efficiency initiatives across various accounts and vendors.
  • Continuously pursue and achieve cost savings by analyzing market pricing and negotiating new agreements for onboard products.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to implement efficiencies and improve internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Develop creative, resourceful solutions to solve immediate and recurring operational and client challenges.
  • Establish and maintain forecasting models to evaluate product usage and equipment logistics to support overall catering performance and costs.
  • Update and report monthly charter statistics for forecasting and future planning.
  • Own and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders; provide business updates to vendor leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Train Inflight Charter Coordinators (ICCs) on catering related duties and technology and ensure quality execution and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in catering operations network, LOPAs, galley constraints, equipment logistics, and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of analysis or Charter-related experience
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
  • Proficient in Word and advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficient in data analysis
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with limited direction
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and client requirements
  • Ability to anticipate client and operational challenges and proactively create and execute effective alternative plans
  • Ability to communicate and balance stakeholder needs and requests
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed: including a full or partial scheduled weekend shift.
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and execute close in deliverables
  • Ability to resolve conflict

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
