**This is a hybrid position based in Fort Lauderdale, FL**
POSITION SUMMARY
Establishes and implements procedures to ensure compliance with US Customs and International Customs and other applicable local government agency regulations, including Department of Commerce and Department of State in relation to import and export control compliance.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Support demands from internal requesting areas regarding import and export shipments.
- Oversee the identification and classification (HTSUS and others as applicable) of parts (mostly applied to aircraft) to ensure international shipping compliance.
- Review, implement and maintain record-keeping systems and databases to comply with US Customs and international compliance requirements.
- Obtain necessary information internally and externally (vendors, customers, regulatory agencies, etc.) to ensure proper logistics coordination for imports and exports.
- Oversees and advise of applicable tax laws in all the countries that parts are exported to.
- Final review of shipments of parts for civilian and military aircraft to ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulation (EAR) and Arms Export Control Act (ITAR).
- Perform and support regular internal/external audits, including customs brokers, to identify, disclose and/or work to fix any potential import/export concern.
- Ensure the necessary information for the preparation of documents and licenses with suppliers or vendors, attorneys, government representatives, etc. Interface with internal/external customers, foreign order administration, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipments.
- Validate the controls and updates of records related to licenses expirations, amendments, and new applications, as well as the specifications defined for each item in terms of price, quantity, dates, etc.
- Submit and/or approve documents to be submitted to the attorneys for compliance evaluation.
- Support flagging for value reconciliation with US Customs
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
- BA in Business Administration or International Trade/Commerce or equivalent combination of experience.
Experience:
- Master Level Administrative Professional Contributor on a Project or Work Team.
- Generally 11-14 years of experience or more in area of responsibility experience with experience with material importation and exportation processes analysis and preparation according to the requirements from U.S. government.
- Experience with international customs regulations, customs brokers and trading practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of exportation and importation processes and regulations (ITAR International Traffic in Arms regulations, EAR – Export administration Regulation, TAA – Technical Assistant Agreement, DSP-05, DSP-73, DSP-83, End User Certificates), compliance documentation (Air Way Bills and SEDs – Shipper’s Export Declarations).
- Ability to demonstrate people management skills (HR guidelines, tools & policies), value-based management fundamentals (Shareholder Satisfaction x Customer Satisfaction x Employee Satisfaction), employment law (sexual harassment, disability, discrimination, labor laws, etc.).
- Business vision & competitiveness skills (managing innovation, the customer service, growth, and creativity).
- Proficient in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access), SAP, ENS, and company policies and procedures.
- Business oriented.
