Overview
The Senior Subcontracts Administrator works under the general direction of the Purchasing Management and is responsible for complex, and high dollar value procurements. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop subcontract specifications, work statements and terms and conditions for the procurement of specific specialized commodities, prepare bid packages, conduct bidder’s conferences, analyze, and evaluate proposals. Negotiate complex subcontract provisions, including elements of cost negotiations. Develop new suppliers, write awards, and administer subsequent subcontracts. Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or changes to subcontracts. Assist in the development of subcontract policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective liaison with suppliers/subcontractors and necessary company operating departments as to progress of materials, anticipated delivery schedules, etc. Visit national and/or international supplier facilities as necessary. Use automated information systems to produce and track purchase orders and related documentation. Ensure appropriate documentation is available to provide adequate support for government audit. Identify problem areas/issues; recommend and/or take corrective action. Make presentations to company management as required.
- May assign and direct the work of subordinate procurement personnel in department. Assist supervision in periodic performance evaluation of personnel assigned train subordinate members of the department as necessary.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field
Experience:
- 7 years experience in a related field to qualify.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of procurement or contracts administration.
- Requires ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.
