How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) This position reports to the Manager of Safety Assurance The System Administrator, SMS plays a key role in ensuring the health and effectiveness of Deltas Safety Management System (SMS) by supporting multiple divisions in the use of Deltas SMS software. This role is responsible for daily administration of software systems used for Employee Safety Reporting, Investigations, Quality Assurance, and Safety Risk Management activities. This role is also responsible for managing user access and conducting quarterly software enhancement list to the systems/softwares.Key responsibilities include:Collaborating with multiple Delta divisions and the third-party vendors to address system related issues related to performance, bugs, and related troubleshooting Leading and participating in weekly Delta/vendor support callsCollaborating with developers to fix software bugs or system vulnerabilities impacting SMS functionalityMaintaining detailed records of troubleshooting activities, including the cause of issues, solutions implemented, and affected usersCreating a report/log for all system enhancements on a quarterly basis, to prioritize and provide the vendor for development Partnering with Delta IT regarding system interfaces (HR and User feeds, Crew feeds, flight information, logbooks, AWS/EDW issues, etc) Providing solutions to internal support requests including; user role and/or permission modifications, role auto-assignment definitions and rules, user activation/deactivationManaging manually assigned roles for Delta employees, partners and vendors, including periodically conducting oversight by initiating audits on roles and users to ensure compliance with internal security requirementsParticipating in user testing in coordination with vendors on new releases as requiredKeeping abreast of latest SMS technology trends, industry standards, and software updates to ensure effective troubleshootingProactively communicating with the General Manager, SMS on all system-related issuesCollaborating with OAP teams to develop, manage and conduct oversight of SMS dashboardsParticipating in training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and troubleshooting skillsPractice safety conscious behaviors in all aspects of operational processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) To be successful in this position, the candidate must possess a strong background/experience with:Computer systems administrationFamiliarity with system Change Management processes Database usage and administrationManipulating large data setsMicrosoft Excel and Microsoft AccessTroubleshooting and problem solving technical/systems issuesExperience working with other industry leading aviation systems/softwareIn addition, the candidate must have:The ability to understand complex systems and workflowsGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving skills (ability to navigate and work through many ‘unknowns’)Good project management skillsCuriosity, desire to learn, spirit of ‘continuous improvement’Ability to occasionally work late-night or weekend hoursSelf-starter/self-directed capabilitiesConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
