Objectives of this Role
Warehouse Project Specialist is responsible for overseeing all production scheduling, inventory control, and process improvement activities within the assigned area. This role includes managing personnel, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards, and maintaining accurate inventory levels. The specialist will coordinate with various departments to resolve issues, lead continuous improvement projects, and document processes to increase efficiency. In addition to these responsibilities, the position may require acting as a vacation replacement for team members and supporting project management efforts across the organization
Key Responsibilities
- Manage special projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate between departments to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and within scope.
- Document processes and work to continuously increase efficiency and streamline operations.
- Serve as lead for ERP implementation of warehouse processes.
- Train employees, update training records, and standardize work instructions, ensuring they are followed.
- Collaborate with other departments to address quality and process issues.
- Maintain a safe, clean workspace by educating staff and ensuring compliance with policies.
- Suggest and implement process improvements using lean tools.
- Track and improve key performance metrics, meeting customer-specific requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance quality, ergonomics, and productivity.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures, including cycle counts, to optimize stock levels.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages, analyze supplier performance, and improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure accurate product inventory for internal and external customers, maintaining compliance with lot control policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient stock movement and resolve any inventory issues.
- Document inventory activities and variances, using RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to solve problems.
- Serve as a resource for problem-solving and improving workflow efficiency.
- Conduct internal audits to maintain standards.
- Serve as a vacation replacement for team members, ensuring smooth operations during absences.
- Support project specialists in executing assigned tasks, providing guidance, resources, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Follow the Barnes Group Code of Ethics and complete any other tasks assigned.

Required Education:
- High School Education minimum, degree from accredited institution preferred.
- Equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Required Length & Type of Experience:
- 3 - 5 years experience with progressive warehouse, industrial and/or manufacturing responsibilities.
- Prior Experience leading or supervising a team.
