Job Description:
Varstaff is currently searching for the following:
Shift: B-Shift- M-TH 2 pm-12:30 AM
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manufacture, assemble, and test custom machine hardware according to written procedures, engineering models, work orders, drawings, and specifications
- Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
- Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicles and subassembly transportation equipment
- Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other large/complex assembly manufacturing environment
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, test procedures, and P&IDs
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around critical hardware
- Experience using common assembly and integration tools
- Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
- Work at heights on work stands and in lifts.
- Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 40lbs
- Experience with verbal and written communication of technical data, results, and associated tools (confluence, MS Office suite)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Qualifications
- Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
- Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
- Experience in handling large/expensive components
- Experience in laser tracker operation
- Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
- Experience in new product introduction
- Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
