POSITION OVERVIEW
Join a high-impact team modernizing and upgrading one of the military’s most enduring and mission-critical aircraft—the AC-130. We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician with deep modification experience to support hands-on integration and upgrade work for a major Department of Defense aviation program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of complex avionics systems and components on the C-130 platform.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to support modification and integration tasks.
- Install, terminate, and route wiring harnesses and coaxial cables in accordance with military and industry standards.
- Conduct system operational checks and support avionics testing and validation procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and program teams to ensure all work meets contract specifications and documentation standards.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance protocols in a controlled hangar environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of avionics installation, integration, or maintenance experience—preferably in a modification or depot-level environment.
- Direct experience with military aircraft.
- Proficient in using avionics test equipment, hand tools, and MIL-SPEC wiring procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams with accuracy.
- Must be a S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or A&P license a plus.
PHYSICAL/WORK & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated positions.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision inspection and tool usage.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow manuals and technical documentation in English.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment standard DOT drug test and criminal background check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Reliable personal vehicle/transportation.
PAY
- $40 hourly
- Split per diem available to those who qualify
- OT time and a half
- Paid weekly after the first week.
