Deliver safe, compliant aircraft dispatch by conducting, supervising and certifying line maintenance at Cathay’s overseas stations on a shift basis. The role sits at the centre of daily operations, where technical judgement and teamwork ensure every aircraft meets company, customer and regulatory standards before departure.
Depending on experience and leadership scope, appointment will be as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer or Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer. The Licensed track focuses on hands‑on certification, contingency execution for diversions and disruption recovery, and maintaining station readiness through equipment, facilities and documentation control. The Senior track builds on this foundation with accountability for supervising maintenance activities, leading Aircraft Technicians and Mechanics, and managing team performance to support operational objectives.
This is practical, high‑stakes engineering work where decisions have immediate impact. Each shift ends with aircraft released safely, teams aligned and customers supported by dependable operations that reflect Cathay’s commitment to safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and/or supervise routine and non‑routine line maintenance, certifying work to company, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with flight operations, ground handling and engineering partners to ensure safe and reliable aircraft dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with local Occupational Health and Safety standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Oversee the performance of third‑party ground handling and maintenance suppliers at station level.
- Execute contingency plans and support operational disruptions, diversions and recovery activities.
- Maintain the availability, serviceability and cleanliness of station ground equipment, vehicles and facilities.
- Perform station administration duties, ensuring documentation and access passes remain current and valid.
- Manage staff rosters and leave planning to optimize labor utilization and meet operational needs, where assigned.
- Lead, coach and develop Aircraft Technicians and Mechanics through performance dialogue and knowledge sharing, where assigned.
- Support emergency, accident and crisis response duties and undertake local or overseas relief assignments as required.
Requirements- Taiwan Permanent Resident or Taiwan Employment Gold Card holder
- Hold a B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence issued by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department or an equivalent authority, with appropriate aircraft type endorsement.
- Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment; for the Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer track, this includes a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a certifying engineer.
- Demonstrate solid operational and technical knowledge of aircraft line maintenance.
- Possess clear communication and effective problem‑solving skills suited to live operational environments.
- Show evidence of team leadership capability, ranging from leading teams to achieve operational success to demonstrable experience coaching and developing Engineers and Mechanics.
