Senior Electrical Engineer- PCB Design Specialist
Scottsdale, AZ
Contract Position
$47.62-$52.62/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize high-density, multi-layer PCBs for high-speed and mixed-signal applications using Siemens Xpedition VX2.11 or newer.
- Implement HDI design techniques, including blind and buried vias, to optimize space and performance.
- Conduct signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC analysis to validate PCB designs.
- Create and review schematics for complex electrical systems and subsystems.
- Perform hardware checkout, debugging, and validation of prototypes using test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.).
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure hardware functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless hardware integration.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve design methodologies.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Proficiency in PCB design and layout using Siemens Xpedition VX2.11 or newer.
- Hands-on experience with high-density PCB design techniques, including HDI layouts with blind and buried vias.
- Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC analysis.
- Strong hardware debugging skills, including using lab test equipment.
- Experience developing and executing test plans for hardware validation.
