Advanced Mechanical Engineer

Manassas, VA

Contract Position

$60.33-$65.12/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze components and electro-mechanical assemblies for defense applications.
• Develop and maintain mechanical solid models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Create and manage bills of material (BOMs) within data management systems.
• Design and develop fixtures and equipment to support testing and production efforts.
• Generate and maintain design and interface documentation for manufacturing and technical teams.
• Prepare technical presentations, recommendations, and reports for program management and Navy customers.
• Participate in weekly technical and program meetings to ensure project alignment.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience).

• Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Experience and Skills:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling for mechanical design and drawing creation.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as industry and government technical standards.
  • Experience with ruggedized electronics packaging for shipboard applications (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) (preferred).
