Network Systems Engineer

Contract Position
Network Systems Engineer job in Scottsdale, Arizona is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Space & Defense company. In this job you will assist in the management and operation of orbiting satellites through the deployment of the MUOS ground system. The system includes four ground station facilities positioned worldwide, each equipped with three freestanding antennas that act like cellphone switches, receiving radio calls relayed through the MUOS satellites. Provide the user-entry and integrated ground segments for the system, which will replace the militarys current narrowband tactical communications system. Support warfighters worldwide on patrol in hostile environments, whether urban, canyon, mountains, or jungles – or even the Arctic Circle. Provide a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the live MUOS ground system by adding new capabilities, enhancements, and replacing end-of-life components.
- Analyze communication network requirements, design IP networks, and troubleshoot issues.
- Develop network solutions that meet customer expectations and technical requirements while staying within cost and schedule constraints.
- Perform functional and performance analysis, detailed trade studies, and support system integration, testing, and validation.
- Ensure network designs meet governmental security specifications and support system accreditation/certification evaluations.
- Lead system design implementation, verification, and guide development/test teams to successful completion.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to lower-level employees and support engineering proposals.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or STEM with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Expertise in IP networking techniques and technologies with the ability to solve complex customer problems.
- Proficiency in systems engineering principles, communication network disciplines, and network system modeling tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in SPI/CPI, Earned Value, and Cost Account Management (CAM).
- Strong understanding of project leadership principles and Microsoft Office proficiency.
