Essential Responsibilities
Coordinate aero design with other technical disciplines, with understanding of module level issues.
Manage resources assigned to the project, prioritize activities to deliver project objectives on time, while meeting cost and quality requirements.
Participate in and lead technical reviews and support and help develop design best practices.
Manage and drive aero technology research activities targeting next-generation aircraft engine applications.
Plan, prepare and lead external funding proposals (national and EU) to advance the state of the art of aerodynamic compressor technology.
Participate in problem solving and innovation initiatives.
Identify improvement opportunities in digital processes and tools.
Act as a technical reference to junior team members.
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent degree) with profound academic/industrial experience in the field of turbomachinery aerodynamics.
Good understanding of the physics and principles associated with turbomachinery aerodynamic design.
Hands-on experience in computational fluid dynamics modeling, design optimization and data analytics.
Proven track record in delivering on complex programs and ability to lead cross-functional global team in multi-cultural environments.
Strong understanding of Lean and Six-Sigma principles.
Demonstrated ability to advance the technology state of the art and ability to generate innovate solutions.
Fluency in English.
Desired Characteristics
PhD in aerodynamics.
Experience in scale and full-scale testing, including test planning, instrumentation, test conduct and data analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships. Passion for technical excellence and technology advancement. Able to self-manage work-load across several activities. Self–directed and motivated
German language.
