Job Description SummaryAdvanced Lead Engineer - Repair Development is responsible to provide technical leadership to the in-service technical management of assigned product components throughout the product life cycle.
Key responsibilities include, monitoring and internal/external response to the in-service performance of the assigned hardware relative to product requirements with respect to safety, reliability, durability and cost of ownership.

Essential Responsibilities
- Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification, industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.
- Lead the assigned hardware engineering activities bringing customer’s perspective to the team. Work along with team on other modules beyond assigned hardware and provide mentoring/guidance.
- Answer technical inquiries and departure records from external airlines, customer overhaul shops, as well as internal GE shops.
- Drive resolution to top in-service issues and on-time customer responsiveness, burn down DR volume. Own Manual changes.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors /Masters in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent specialization with strong academic track record.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Repair, Product support Engineering (PSE), and / or Design activities
- Skilled in aviation regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong engineering problem solving capabilities
- Strong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
