LOCATION: Des Plaines, IL

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $125,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support and lead the research and development of air purification, catalysis, thermal management, and fuel cell technologies that provide competitive advantages at the component and system levels
•Work with cross-functional R&D, engineering, manufacturing teams to drive the development of key technologies from early design to commercialization
•Design, build, and test chemicals, materials, subsystem prototypes as well as gas and liquid test stands 
•Analyze data to find critical factors and gain a fundamental understanding of science behind key technologies
•Communicate results to project leads, leadership, and customers
•Complete tasks within planned schedule and budget
•Become a subject matter expert and generate intellectual property through the submission of invention disclosures
•Support customer relationships & external funding opportunities through presentations, meetings, and proposal writing
•Work with customers to understand and refine their technical requirements and business needs into achievable technology and product roadmaps
•Contribute to our world-class safety and environmental stewardship program by always operating in a safety-conscious manner
•Apply learning and knowledge to multiple product lines 

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•Experience in Materials Science

•PhD or Masters in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or related field 
•Gas Processing and Catalysis and cooling materials prototype development 
•Enthusiastic with a commitment to excellence

•Team oriented; enthusiastic about working on interdisciplinary and multi-site teams
•Good written and oral communication skills, ability to create presentations, reports, and proposals
•Knowledge and experience with heterogeneous catalysis and/or liquid absorbent technology
•Strong knowledge of gas, liquid, and process technology and associated safety
•Knowledge of chemical analysis and material characterization techniques
•Ability to analyze and solve challenging problems across multiple technologies
•Ability to collaborate virtually in global teams across time zones
•Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
•Fosters an open, honest, collaborative, and respectful working environment
