Job Description SummaryAs an Advanced Control Systems & Accessories Advanced Staff Engineer you will oversee timely execution of schedule, anticipation of issues and roadblocks and their appropriate mitigation based on Risk Analysis and Program priorities for a multidisciplinary team dedicated to inventing the future of flight.
You will be involved in the technology maturation processes for the next generation of products as well as the electrical component engineer processes for new and re-used components across advanced technology demonstrators including but not limited to RISE Open Fan, Advanced Ducted Narrow Body, and Hydrogen. You will also interact with other disciplines such as Controls, Software, Prognostics and Health Management, Configurations, Product Definition and Fluid Systems.
You will also be the point of contact with our counterparts globally and drive integration and correct interaction among engineering teams. Finally, you will be part of the Strategic and Advanced Technologies Leadership team and will contribute and sustain objectives accordingly.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute and lead technical leadership to ensure best practices and lessons learned are shared across advanced programs.
- Providing timely inputs to electrical component and technology maturation teams to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost are aligned to company’s directives and purpose.
- Effectively support the Engineering organizations, meeting the KPIs and business targets defined (such as OTD, FTY, Savings, budgets) as well as identifying leading indicators
- Maintain a strong awareness of planning within the team to ensure technical excellence of work milestones and reviews, appropriate use of resources and consistency of status reporting across engineering disciplines.
- Addressing the configuration of electrical apparatus and systems, electrical components, and comprehensive system integration concepts, including engine test.
- Close collaboration with engineering organizations (local and global) towards a clear vision and short/long term priorities alignment
- Maintain resource flexibility to adapt to the dynamic environment.
- Promotes team development and strategic growth.
- Mentor and coach leadership pipeline.
- Collaborate with global peers/teams towards a Lean execution. Drive Lean ideas globally.
- Requires specialized knowledge within the function.
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering.
- Experience working with Control Systems, PHM, Electrical and Fuel Systems on New Product Introduction or similar processes.
- Experience working directly with customer of OEMs such as Boeing, Airbus, COMAC or equivalent at the flight test level or equivalent product integration at the customer level.
- Program management experience, certification experience, Tollgate Reviews experience
- Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position
- Demonstrated outstanding technical skills and experience aligned with SPOCT organization.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills or the ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close, and manage programs, projects, orders, activities, or systems.
