About the Role
We at StandardAero are looking for the next generation of talent, who can solve problems and achieve results that make an impact. This September we are relaunching our Apprenticeship Programme and we have multiple exciting opportunities to join our team as an Aeronautical Engineering Technician Apprentice (Mechanical).
StandardAero holds a pivotal role in maintaining the operational efficiency of Military Aircraft and Business Aviation Jets as one of the worlds leading independent Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) providers, employing over 7,500 employees in 49 facilities worldwide.
As an apprentice Aeronautical Engineering Technician (Mechanical), you will carry out hands-on technical mechanical maintenance activities on live aircraft, aid in equipment disassembly/ assembly and installations, all while honing your fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
Over the course of our three-year programme, you will study towards your Level 3 Diploma (accredited by City & Guilds) whilst acquiring the knowledge, skills and competence to operate at the level of a Category A technician alongside our adept team of mechanical technicians who will offer guidance and mentorship.
CEMAST (Fareham College) will deliver the apprenticeship training and you will attend their training centre on day release.
Competencies
Essential - To be eligible you must have or be on target to achieve:
- At least 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above which must include Maths, English and Science
- Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering

- Location: StandardAero, Fleetlands, Gosport, PO13 0AA. Occasional travel to our other site in Portsmouth (15-minute walk to/ from Hilsea train station) will be required.

- College: CEMAST, Lee-on-the-Solent
- Apprenticeship Standard: Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Level 3)
- Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance & Level 3 Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance Category A, accredited by City & Guilds
