In this position, you will lead certification activities by providing guidance to our engineering teams to ensure that our design solutions are compliant with the regulatory requirements of either the FAA and/or military airworthiness offices. These cover a very wide range from, advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft. Youll also oversee the aircraft certification process and development of certification documentation.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for supporting certification and airworthiness efforts for aircraft modification programs.
  • Responsible for generating certification plans and and compliance checklists
  • Responsible to interface with the Engineering Group provide compliance requirements
  • Responsible to report program status to program management 
  • Responsible to assist with development of Aircraft Flight Manual Supplements and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
  • Responsible to generate compliance reports and compile technical data packages 

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field of study and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Exposure to working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security Clearance

Preferred:

  • Degree in an Engineering related discipline.
  • Understanding of the certification planning process (i.e. developing certification plans, the establishment of certification basis, proposing Methods of Compliance, proposing compliance artifacts.
  • Prior experience with FAA Certification Standards (14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, 29) and/or Military certification (MIL-HDBK-516) programs.
  • Experience with reading, reviewing and interpreting technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Experience in coordinating certification approvals with the FAA Aircraft Certification Offices,  FAA Delegated Engineering Representatives (DERs) or other certifying authorities.

The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
