Job Description SummaryAirworthiness and Certification (A&C) Lead Engineer has a formal position within the design organization of GE Aviation Czech s.r.o. (GEAC) approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). As A&C Lead Engineer you will be part of the Airworthiness Office with specific responsibility as described in EASA Part 21J and serve as a focal for H80/M601 commercial turboprop engine product line as a subject matter expert in all matters relating to A&C and you will be a liaison to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities (FCAA).

Roles and Responsibilities
- The Airworthiness Engineer main responsibilities are:
- approving the classification of design changes
- granting the approval for minor changes
- approving the proposed classification of non-conformances and of repair designs
- Reviews and understands the applicable standards required by Law in country that apply to the relevant products. Communicates standards to the design community and maintains it. May also participate with independent third parties to perform product compliance and certification work (testing, design review etc.) and communicates results/actions to the relevant engineering and supply chain team. Interacts with outside engineering firms or governmental agencies to provide or record product compliance to required regional or national standards to gain the needed product certification or qualification.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or other technical disciplines from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aerospace design environment.
Knowledge of civil aviation regulations, certification specifications and guidance material.
Good command of English language.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with design engine systems and components.
Experience with certification activities.
Previous experience as airworthiness engineer or CVE.
Problem solving, communication and presentation skills
Ability to guide and influence others.
