Job Description:

DRS Pivotal Power, Inc. is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. DRS Pivotal Power is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of high reliability power conversion equipment for mission critical applications supporting all branches of the military in Canada, the US and many countries abroad. All products are designed and manufactured in house by our growing team of over 80 employees. DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99.

Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare routine drawings and designs using CAD hardware and software from detailed sketches, layouts, or notes for technical publication
  • Assist in preparing illustrations for manuals on communications/electronics equipment to be used for training, operations, maintenance and repair, and/or parts identification 
  • Check drawings for accuracy
  • Follow established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assists in design drafting
  • Consult with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, and drafting standards 
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Confer with engineering, technical or manufacturing personnel
  • Create mathematical or statistical diagrams or charts
  • May prepare technical reports or related documentation
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization 
Job Responsibilities Part II
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or trade school
  • Knowledge of commonly-used design concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, specifications and technical drawings
  • Understand engineering data or reports, understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
  • Ability to use computer aided drafting or design software for design, drafting, modeling, or other engineering tasks
