Job Description Summary
The Certification Engineer – Regional and Business Aviation will report to a Systems Engineering Leader in Cincinnati, OH. This person must consider both the business and the technical needs of customers to execute certification activities that require coordination with the ODA, Airworthiness & Certification team, FAA, EASA, and other Civil Aviation Authorities. They will apply regulatory knowledge and cross-discipline technical expertise towards airworthiness and certification outcomes. This is a senior position for experienced applicants.
Essential Responsibilities
- Applies regulatory knowledge and awareness to lead certification activities across all engineering disciplines, including defining requirements for and planning of certification efforts.
- Authors and reviews certification deliverables. Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
- Facilitate communication of technical and business information within the work group and between both internal and external departments/agencies.
- Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college in engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in systems or airworthiness & certification engineering.
