Chief Engineer

Responsibilities:
- design, development, and integration of complex space and defense systems, ensuring alignment with program objectives, schedules, and budgets.
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop and integrate system architectures while ensuring design integrity across all subsystems.
- Oversee technical execution, risk assessments, and issue resolution to mitigate program challenges.
- Manage and conduct formal technical reviews (System Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews).
- Develop and maintain engineering plans, schedules, roadmaps, and documentation to support program milestones.
- Serve as the technical liaison between engineering teams and program leadership, translating complex information into actionable insights.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.
- Regularly interface with key stakeholders, delivering technical briefings, updates, and progress reports on engineering efforts.
- Manage project scope, cost, and schedules, coordinating priorities and resources across multiple initiatives.
- Utilize corporate quality processes to track program performance, schedule adherence, and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Experience in Space Systems engineering.
- Proven track record of delivering innovation projects within the DoD.
- Expertise in Cloud architecture and evolution.
- Experience with high-performance hardware systems using VMware technologies.
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with mission data processing systems and frameworks.
- Background in acquisition and requirements development.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Project or Program Management.
- Agile team development and Agile project management experience.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) expertise.
- Experience with software architecture, design, testing, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with production space systems, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or containerized deployment automation.
- Experience with major Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCE).
