Job Summary
This position involves performing composite and metal assembly tasks, including bonding, repairing, and fabricating parts per engineering and manufacturing specifications. The role requires working with a variety of tools and equipment, applying sealing resins, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position supports continuous product flow and involves physical activity such as standing for extended periods.
Key Responsibilities
• Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond various metal, composite, or laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, or skins.
• Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to determine bonding requirements, including temperature and pressure.
• Operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
• Cut parts or materials to size and apply sealing resins to exposed edges.
• Sand, burr, and smooth over areas as required.
• Perform rework or repair as needed using process methods and sequences.
• Monitor and verify quality according to controlled procedures.
• Use lay-up tools, shop mathematics, and precision measuring instruments for fabrications and assemblies.
• Obtain information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, and electronic documentation.
• Perform routine minor machine maintenance and ensure equipment and tool certifications occur as per procedure.
• Support the continuous flow of product by training and assisting other employees.
Required Qualifications
• 2-5 years of composite repair experience.
• Aerospace experience is required.
• Ability to follow engineering and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience with bonding processes, cutting materials to size, and applying sealing resins.
• Local candidates strongly preferred.
• Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to stand for the entire 8-hour shift.
Preferred Qualifications
• Training and certification to become MVP qualified (provided by the company).
