Job Description:

Description:DMS Engineer Staff - Level 4

We are Lockheed Martin

The Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Team at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics needs self-starting, motivated engineers who are willing to leverage their strengths in a team environment. We support the Warfighter from obsolescence threats by integrating affordable solutions to ensure readiness.

The Aero DMS Team (ADT) is an established focal point for integrating obsolescence solutions across the various lines of businesses (LOB) at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. These systems engineers receive an extraordinary level of visibility as well as exposure to programmatic implementation while acting as integrators across a wide range of disciplines both internal and external to the Engineering Technology organization. The DMS Engineers are critical to the production and sustainment of the C-130J fleet, with a proven record of mitigating industry obsolescence threats.

DMS Engineer:
The Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) Team is an established focal point for all issues regarding obsolescence on the C-130J Program. As systems engineers, the members of this team receive an extraordinary level of visibility as well as exposure to programmatic execution while acting as integrators across a wide range of disciplines both internal and external to the C-130J Engineering & Technology organization. The DMS team is a critical nexus for C-130J Production, Sustainment, and Development execution, proven by years of successfully mitigating industry threats. The candidate will perform DMS Management duties which incorporate the analysis of Bill of Material (BOM), and inventory management data, to identify potential impacts to the C-130J Program. The candidate will use this data to develop a DMS business case to help identify the most cost affordable mitigation for a DMS event. These tasks will require the candidate to support proposal development efforts which include reviewing, interpreting, and writing proposals, SSOWs, and BOEs. Working DMS redesign efforts to completion in support of the Production, Sustainment, Kitting, and Spares needs to deliver a DMS solution to support our C-130J Customer needs.

Expectations include building and maintaining routine relationships with C-130J Engineering leadership, system/subsystem engineering teams, Supply Chain, Business Management, Program Management, Sustainment Operations, Hardware and Software Suppliers, C-130J Customers, and all associate parties involved in DMS for the program.

In addition, the candidate will be a stakeholder in the maintenance and development process of various tools which are used by the team for tracking, coordinating, and executing DMS mitigation cases. The candidate will help adapt critical toolsets to the ongoing demands of the programs and help to incorporate these utilities as Aeronautics standards.

Lastly, the candidate will perform and/or support the DMS Team in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints, and any other DMS Team needs as required.
