Job Description SummaryThe Manufacturing Data Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper capture, storage, and documentation of manufacturing data that will be used in production of aircraft engine components. In this role, you will work in a cross-functional team environment consisting of materials, manufacturing, design, and information technologies to impact component producibility as well as process maturation and industrialization.
This position will be onsite at our Beavercreek, OH location for the first 6-12 months, with possible transition to a hybrid role after.
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.Job DescriptionPrimary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leverage GE Aerospace tools and standards to facilitate data capture from manufacturing systems.
- Implement data capture for new manufacturing methods in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Lead cross-functional teams in application of data to characterize and improve manufacturing methods.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with policies and procedures.
Additional Roles and Responsibilities:
- Use judgment and technical expertise to formulate and implement plans, make decisions, or solve moderately complex tasks or problems.
- Take new perspective on existing solutions.
- Use technical data engineering expertise to support recommendations.
- Lead statistical analysis and application of data science for material and manufacturing data sets to identify key process characteristics and solve problems.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
- Maintain an active role in developing data visualizations to anticipate quality or performance problem resolution to meet current and future business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience)
