Internship Duties and Responsibilities:

A) Apply engineering principles to develop, validate, and optimize small-scale simulation models for component level validations to test.
B) Conduct research and data analysis to support the material testing and characterization activities.
C) Collaborate with the test lab and other cross-functional teams to integrate test learnings to simulation models and improve model correlation & accuracy.
D) Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to design validation challenges.
E) Work with team on assigned projects, perform all the necessary linear/non-linear static analysis and support the development of technical reports, and documentation for internal teams and stakeholders.
F) Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Attributes Required:

Must Have Technical Skills/Exp:
G) Must have a strong background in basic structural engineering such as free body diagrams and strength of materials.
H) Preferred knowledge of FEA using any commercial FEA codes, preprocessing and post processing tools, like Altair suite tools.
I) Prefer broad understanding of strength of materials and failure modes.
J) Must be willing to perform tests and some physical work at the test laboratory, as required.
K) Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
L) Must have ability to think strategically and solve problems.
M) Must be able to communicate efficiently in writing and verbally.
N) Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
O) Prefer to be able to perform standard stress analysis.
