Job Description SummaryCreate and/or update component drawing packages using SIEMENS NX. Moreover, the PDE intern will interact with a cross functional engineering teams including Electrical, Mechanical, and Manufacturing to collaborate on new designs. Additionally, the PDE intern will also be responsible for documenting designs utilizing the latest drafting standards.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Implement composite material characterization on models and drawing definitions.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities on the modeling and definition of composites parts.
- Collaborate with technical experts to document and establish the design process for composites components.
- Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
- Support different engine programs to create, modify, and release design drawings and models.
- Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
- Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
- Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related with at least a 1.5 years to graduate.
- Strong communication skills in both English & Spanish
- Able to solve problems by itself
- Solid knowledge using a CAD system
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Interest on composite materials
- Solid knowledge working with NX Siemens
