The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australias (BDA) provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, the Engineering function has developed a Capability Plan to enable the Engineering workforce to meet our defence customers evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.
BDA is looking for a Document Controllerwho will join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team, who are focused in creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce. In this role you will support a project team with document control and record keeping in an electronic system that is designed to store, protect and structure product data.
This role is based on-site at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia.
Responsibilities
- Perform document control of technical data as part of an overall project plan.
- Ensure incoming and outgoing project-related data is stored and retrieved in appropriate systems.
- Manage, track, file and distribute data to the project team, and between internal and external stakeholders.
- Administer access controls within an electronic document management system.
- Act as the first point of contact for document queries within the project team and assist and train project staff on record keeping responsibilities.
- Administer and control data from an information protection, data transfer, retention and archival perspective.
- Support continuous improvement of data management plans, processes and tools.
- Maintain effective and positive relationships with stakeholders to support the operation of the platform.
Experience/Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in defence or engineering highly desirable.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and experience using an electronic document management system.
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with attention to detail.
