THE WORK
We are seeking a Dynamic Components Design Engineer to be responsible for the design, development and support of elegant and safe aircraft system solutions that exceed customer expectations for mission success. Dynamic Components designers work with gears, bearings, seals, lubrication, controls hydraulics and housings within the drive system gearboxes and rotor head utilizing traditional manufacturing methods such as machining, castings, and forgings as well as advanced technologies in additive manufacturing. Typical tasks include preparing drawing revisions and Engineering Change Orders, prepare Engineering Instructions and specification revisions. As a Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to interact with Analysts, Material and Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure.

WHO YOU ARE
The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of component design and manufacturing, have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, have a basic understanding of loading and dynamics in mechanical assemblies, be highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives, and be capable of managing complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes.

A level 2 employee is early-career and typically has 1 to 2+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).
• Basic knowledge of power transmission/mechanical systems.
• Able to work Full time on site at Fort Worth, TX facility.
• Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
• Proficient with CATIA V5, 3DX design tools.
• Familiar with ANSYS FEA & CFD analytical tools.
• Familiar with manufacturing aluminum, titanium and steel parts.
• Familiar with Helicopter Drive Systems or Rotor Design.
• Able to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
